As a small developper, it is difficult to get your app some visibility in this wild and competitive world. Of course, your app has to be awesome and even more awesome than your competitors, but unfortunately, it is not enough to get people interested in it. You can also spend tons of money on paid advertising but there is a lot of waste in this area unless you fine tune your strategy & platform & partners, and unless you have a team dedicated to that task, you probably can’t afford that time.
Then there also is free app review sites, or “submit your app” kind of sites. More and more of them are asking for a fee to give you a “professional” review, so I thought it could be interesting as well to give a list of free submissions sites for Android apps. You probably wonder if submitting your app in these review sites works or not, and how efficient it is. Let’s be honest, not a lot. But it’s free. Also in a previous conference, a Google guy said about the Playstore that the ranking of your app in the store takes into consideration the backlinks to your app webpage (among other signals of course).
All these sites have all been recently verified but obviously, don’t expect a high success rate… You know the drill, just put yourself in the webmaster’s position spammed by hundreds of app developpers every day. So be nice, be honest about your app, and try to offer something different. And don’t expect much more than 5 – 10% of conversion rate to get your app reviewed… But do expect many of them asking you money for a review… Don’t be angry, it’s just business.
